JAKARTA - Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) will optimise the role of cryptocurrency to support national trading system. This was conveyed by Jerry Sambuaga, Deputy Minister of Trade, in a press release quoted on Monday (25/1).

He conveyed that the crypto sector had developed and was traded across countries. Therefore, cryptocurrencies had to provide benefits for business owners and the country. "Security and protection during transactions are currently a major concern for business owners," stated Sambuaga.

He explained that Bappebti had been the regulator and supervisor of crypto commodities since 2018. One of the issued regulations was Bappebti Regulation No.7/2020, concerning the Establishment of a List of Tradeable Crypto Assets in Physical Crypto Asset Market. "This policy is to regulate the addition and reduction of crypto assets, including troubleshooting experienced by customers," added Sambuaga. (LK/VA)
