JAKARTA - The government has allocated a budget for PSR (Public’s Palm Oil Revitalisation) this year, amounting to IDR 5.56 trillion, with a land area of 180,000 hectares (Ha). This was conveyed by Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economy, in a press release quoted on Tuesday (26/1).

He mentioned that the support for PSR budget had been approved during Guiding Committee Meeting of Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) on Friday (22/1). "PSR mechanism will soon be drawn up with other stakeholders," said Hartanto.

The BPDPKS meeting was attended by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Minister of Trade, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Director General of Customs of Ministry of Finance, Director General of Agro Industry of Ministry of Industry, and National Development Planning Agency.

Furthermore, Hartanto stated, the government had also set a target allocation for the distribution of 9.2 million kilo liters (Kl) of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) to support the biodiesel (B30) program this year. This allocation was intended to stabilise CPO price and balance trade surplus in non-oil and gas sector.

“CPO allocation target for biodiesel will boost 23% target of energy mix from new and renewable energy by 2025," added Hartanto. (LK/VA)
