JAKARTA - PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO) filed an objection to PT Maruwai Coal (MC) regarding the disbursement of bank guarantee amounting to IDR 60.01 billion. This was conveyed by Meinar Kusumastuti, Director of PTRO, in an information disclosure quoted on Thursday (28/1).

She conveyed that PTRO took legal steps against the disbursement of bank guarantee. "The company does not agree with the disbursement made by PT Maruwai Coal. We have appointed a lawyer and submitted an objection to the invoice issuance," stated Kusumastuti.

According to her, this problem started when PTRO received an invoice from MC on December 18, 2020, asking for a payment of IDR 60.01 billion within 30 days. The company submitted an objection to MC. However, they received a notification from PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) that the funds had been paid to MC on January 25, 2020.

"This has created a bad record for the bank providing the facility, because previously the management of PTRO had objected to the issuance of the invoice," added Kusumastuti.

MC is the holder of the 3rd generation Coal Mining Exploitation Work Agreement which was issued on February 19, 1998, in two provinces, including East Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan. (LK/VA)
