Tanah Laut’s subsidiary sued Virgo Makmur and PTBA

JAKARTA - PT Pelayaran Indx Lines (PIL), a subsidiary of PT Tanah Laut Tbk (INDX), is suing PT Virgo Makmur Perkasa (VMP) and Ministry of Transportation's Directorate General of Sea Transportation to pay for material losses of IDR 97.15 billion. The contents of this lawsuit are stated in Case Number 52/Pdt.G/2021/PN.Jkt Pst, January 26, 2021.

Quoted from pn-jakartapusat.go.id on Thursday (28/1), the defendants included PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) and Pratama Setiabudi Dua Tax Service Office, Jakarta. In the petitum of the lawsuit, the defendants were asked to pay joint and several liability for material losses in cash.

PIL is a shipping service company with 99.99% ownership by INDX, which was formed in 2010 with total assets of IDR 42.55 billion as of June 2020. VMP was a corporate partner of PIL for coal loading and unloading services using floating cranes and barges from PTBA’s coal loading terminal. (LK/VA)
