JAKARTA - PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) collected Third Party Funds (DPK) throughout 2020 amounting to IDR 79.19 trillion, growing 8.79% compared to 2019 amounting to IDR 72.79 trillion. This was conveyed by Kostaman Thayib, President Director of PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) in the 2020 Financial Statements quoted on Friday (29/1).

He said that the growth in deposits was accompanied by an increase in retail funds and low cost funds (current account and savings account) to 28.12% from the previous year, namely, 24.75%. "This has an impact on reducing the cost of funds to 5.15% from 2019 of 5.84%," he said.

According to him, the increase in DPK was not accompanied by a growth in credit distribution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, credit distribution was recorded at IDR 48.49 trillion, lower than the 2019 period of IDR 53.02 trillion.

He conveyed that MEGA provides credit selectively and prudently to maintain credit quality in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This step, he continued, was able to reduce the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) to 1.39%, lower than the NPL in 2019 of 2.46%. (LK/LM)
