Two state-owned banks disbursed PEN credit of IDR 78.93 trillion

JAKARTA - Two state-owned banks have disbursed loans, amounting to IDR 78.93 trillion, from the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program during Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. This was revealed in the Hearing Meeting between Commission XI DPR (House of Representatives) and the directors of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) ) Tbk (BBTN) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), in Jakarta yesterday (2/2).

Sunarso, President Director of BBRI, said that he had distributed PEN funds, amounting to IDR 45 trillion, by last week (13/1). "The PEN funding credit was distributed in two stages, in which the first stage distributed as much as IDR 30 trillion and the second stage was IDR 15 trillion," he said.

According to Sunarso, BBTN received the first phase PEN funds of IDR 10 trillion per month, for 3 months, from June to September 25, 2020, and the second phase of IDR 5 trillion per month for 3 months, from October 2020 to January 13, 2021.

On the other hand, Nixon Napitupulu, Acting Officer of BBTN, said that he had distributed PEN loans of IDR 33.93 trillion for housing debtors. "A total of 108,000 debtors received PEN credit, of which 85% were targeted for housing debtors," he stated. (LK/VA)
