JAKARTA - PT Bio Farma (Persero) will complete the production of 11 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine by March 2021. This was conveyed by Bambang Heriyanto, spokesman for PT Bio Farma (Persero) when he received the arrival of 11 million vaccine raw materials for the second phase of Sinovac vaccines at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, yesterday (2/2).
He conveyed that among the 11 million raw materials for vaccines that had arrived, there were 1 million overfill doses of semi-finished ingredients. "It will begin processing on February 13, 2021 and is expected to be completed on March 20, 2021," he said.
The 11 million doses of vaccine raw material that arrived are part of the 140 million doses of Sinovac vaccine raw material that will be received this year. On January 12, 2021, Bio Farma received 15 million doses of vaccine raw materials and production is expected to be completed in the second week of February 2021.
He conveyed that all vaccine raw materials that have been processed have been passed a series of quality tests by the Bio Farma Laboratory and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). "A total of 140 million doses for this year will be received gradually until July 2021," he said. (LK/LM)
