JAKARTA. Sales of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) decreased by 8.53%, lower than the decline in national cement demand of 10.4%.
In 2020, the company managed to sell 1.93 million tons and 34,000 tons of white cement (white clay), while the target was set at 2 million tons. In 2019 sales reached 2.11 million tons.
Semen Baturaja Corporate Secretary Doddy Irawan explained that some industries in Indonesia are experiencing difficult times in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This condition is worsened by excess supply that has occurred since 2019.
Doddy said that in 2021, his party targets sales to increase by more than 5% as quoted by Bisnis.com recently. (AM/LM)
