Citibank and Standard Chartered Bank appointed as distributors of Retail SBSN

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia appointed Citibank, N.A. and Standard Chartered Bank as Retail Government Sharia Securities (SBSN) distribution partners in the Domestic Primary Market this year.

Dwi Irianti Hadiningdyah, Director of Sharia Financing, said the two distribution partner banks will assist the Indonesian Government in serving retail SBSN orders through electronic or online channels. Apart from the two banks, there are 16 distribution partners who fall into the category of commercial banks.

Meanwhile, the total distribution partners which are Islamic commercial banks are as many as 4 banks. Then 5 distribution partners who are securities companies, 3 distribution partners who are special securities companies, and 3 fintech companies.

"In the near future (1st quarter of 2021) the government will sell the SR014 Retail State Sukuk online through the assistance of 33 Distribution Partners as mentioned above," said Hadiningdyah. (KR/LM)
