JAKARTA. PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), an automotive producer with total assets of IDR 46.97 trillion, has sold 26,830 units of cars in the domestic market during January 2021.
The sales volume decreased slightly by 0.72% on a month-on-month (mom) basis from December 2020, which reached 27,024 units. Of all cars sold in January 2021, 7,179 units were LCGC (Low Cost Green Car).
Based on the brands of cars sold, 9,108 units were Mitsubishi cars. Then as many as 7,231 units of Honda cars, 6400 units of Suzuki cars, 100 units of Nissan cars, and 3,241 units of other brands.
Boy Kelana Soebroto, Head of Corporate Communications ASII, assessed that car sales in the domestic market still have a chance to grow. "We hope this sales growth can be sustained," said Soebroto through an official statement to idnfinancials.com.
In January 2021, ASII will still dominate the market share of domestic car sales with a percentage of 51%. In the previous month, ASII's market share was also 51%. (KR/LM)
