JAKARTA - PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) is exploring the sale of 4,000 units of its Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower. Sales of these tower units are thought to be related to the company's efforts to continue to revitalize 2G and 3G networks into 4G network infrastructure.

Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer acting as the Corporate Secretary of PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) said that if the tower sale transaction is realized, it will become a material transaction under the regulations of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). "The company is still in the early stages of exploring the transaction," he said in an information disclosure quoted on Thursday (18/2).

As of September 2020, ISAT has 117 thousand units of BTS towers, consisting of 25,867 units of 2G BTS towers, 31,296 units of 3G towers, and 59,969 units of 4G towers. This number increased compared to the same period in 2019, with 23,268 units of 2G BTS towers, 42,605 units of 3G and 29,317 units of 4G. (LK/LM)
