JAKARTA - Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), or the French Development Institute, is involved in the development of fishing port that apply an environmentally friendly system/ eco fishing port). This was conveyed by M. Zaini, Ad Interim of Director General of Capture Fisheries at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, in a press statement quoted on Wednesday (24/2).
He said that the study for the development of eco fishing port had been carried out by AFD since 2014. "The cooperation, for environmentally friendly port development with AFD, is listed in the Green Book or the 2020 Foreign Loan Utilization Plan (DRPPLN) Document," explained Zaini.
The DRPPLN document referred to the Decree of the Minister of National Development Planning/ National Development Planning Agency No.65/2020.
Zaini conveyed that the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries became the executing agency and implementing agency, for the eco fishing port program, to prepare for the next necessary steps. They had reviewed the locations of Cilacah Ocean Fishing Port and the Perikanan Nusantara Port, Pekalongan, Central Java, to be projected as one of the eco port fishing projects. (LK/VA)
