JAKARTA - Said Aqil Siradj, Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), was appointed as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI), by the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs). This was conveyed by Arya Sinulingga, Special Staff of the Ministry of SOEs, in Jakarta, yesterday (3/3).
According to Sinulingga, Said Aqil Siradj was considered to have the skills as a commissioner in SOEs, because previously he experienced to be President Commissioner of the Indonesian Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. "The figure [of Siradj] is an ulama who can build national values in SOE Railways," he said.
Erik Thohir, Minister of SOEs, appointed Aqil Siradj as Commissioner of KAI, replacing Jusman Syafii Djamal who had ended his working period this year. The decision to appoint Siraj was contained in SOE Decree No.64/MBU/03/2020. In addition, the SOEs minister also appointed Riza Primadi and Rochadi as Independent Commissioners of KAI, Diah Natalisa and Chairul Anwar as KAI Commissioners. (LK/VA)
