JAKARTA. The core capital of PT Bank Permata Tbk (BNLI) at the end of 2020 had reached IDR 41.81 trillion, up from IDR 22.15 trillion at the end of 2019. The increase was due to the effective acquisition of Bangkok Bank last year.

In addition, the increase in Bank Permata's core capital was also driven by Bangkok branches in Indonesia merging into Permata Bank. So that core capital increased significantly and pushed the position of Bank Permata to move up to Commercial Bank Business Group (BUKU) IV.

Based on Bank Permata's financial report in Harian Bisnis Indonesia (8/3), Bank Permata's assets have reached IDR 197.72 trillion and is ranked as the 8th largest bank in terms of assets. With a net profit for the current year of IDR 721.59 billion as of December 31, 2020, a decrease of 52% compared to 2019's profit of IDR 1.5 trillion.

By merging the Bangkok Bank branch office in Indonesia, the total assets of BNLI on a consolidated basis grew by 22.42% in 2020 to IDR 197.73 trillion. For the 2020 period, Bank Permata booked credit disbursement of IDR 103.51 trillion, up 10.60% (yoy), while third party funds rose 18.40% to IDR 145.56 trillion. (AM/LM)
