JAKARTA. PT Bank Capital Indonesia Tbk (BACA) changed its business strategy from a corporate commercial segment to a productive retail segment. These changes are in an effort towards digital banking.

Bank Capital Corporate Secretary Budi Setiadi revealed that the Company plans to become a digital bank serving the retail and MSME credit sectors. The change in business strategy was stated in the disclosure of information on the stock exchange, Monday (9/3/2021).

Budi also explained that regarding the impact of the enactment of POJK 12/2020 concerning the minimum core capital obligation for Commercial Banks of IDR 2 trillion in 2021 and IDR 3 trillion in 2022 on the business continuity and operational activities of the company, management said there was no significant impact related to capital fulfillment related to POJK 12/2020.

This is because BACA will fulfill these provisions through a rights issue which is scheduled to take place in Semester II-2020. Because with the rights issue, the core capital will be a minimum of IDR 3 trillion and currently [before the rights issue] is IDR 1.5 trillion. (AM/LM)
