JAKARTA. Poultry issuer PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk. (WMUU) will increase production capacity in anticipation of rising demand ahead of the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr this year.

The President Director of WMUU Ali Mas'adi estimates that the demand for protein from poultry will increase by 40%, so that his party must prepare a month before entering Ramadan. To anticipate this demand, WMUU will increase production capacity from 2 shifts to 3 shifts, Ali said as quoted by Bisnis, Tuesday (16/3/2021). So that the total supply of chickens from the chicken slaughterhouse (RPA) will increase every day, and can reach 13,500 chickens per hour from 12,000 chickens during 2 shifts.

It will also increase inventory turnover at existing stock storage points. The company also ensures that it can best reach and fulfill household needs.

According to Ali, a number of positive factors, such as the start of the operation of the horeca and the food industry, the improvement of the household industry and the ongoing vaccinations, have encouraged him to be optimistic that demand in 2021 will be better than 2020. The company has set a revenue target in 2021 of IDR 4.3 trillion. (AM/LM)
