JAKARTA. PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) is committed to developing new and renewable energy (EBT) following a joint venture with an Indian solar power company with an investment of US$ 500 million.
INDY President Director Arsjad Rasjid said the US$ 500 million value was a commitment in developing solar energy for the next 5 years. "Commitment and sustainability," he said in a seminar: Prospects for the Minerba Industry 2021 Wednesday (24/03/2021).
INDY recently established a joint venture with a solar power company from India, Fourth Partner Energy (4PEL), which is named PT Empat Mitra Indika Tenaga Surya (EMITS).
According to him, Indonesia still has a lot of homework to improve renewable energy. He admitted that Indonesia is indeed late compared to neighboring countries in developing this renewable energy.
"Like Malaysia and Thailand. But I think it's never too late, I think the government will definitely push it," he said. (AM/LM)
