ZINC increases mineral reserve potential

JAKARTA - PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC) routinely conduct exploration activities to increase the Company's mineral reserves.

Based on data of exploration result in February 2021, conducted in Karim and Gojo areas, it was found mineralization potential that can increase the Company's resources and reserves. This exploration program will continue to be carried out consistently with the aim of adding mineral reserves but also to confirm the quality of the rock levels to be mined by the ZINC.

For information, the Company has a mining area of 5,569 hectares which produces base metals ranging from Lead (Pb) concentrate, zinc (Zn) and silver (Ag) concentrates. Currently, the production area has only reached 390 hectares, or only 7% of the total area of IUPs owned. Meanwhile, the Company’s total resources as of August 2020 reached 23.33 million tonnes, an increase from the previous data of 14.44 million tonnes in 2018. This increase is due to addition of exploration results and also the actual level is higher than the previously estimated in 2018.  

Harjanto Widjaja, as President Director of ZINC said, "With the potential of existing minerals, the Company still has considerable potential resources and reserves. So we are optimistic that the Company can increase production and sales of base metals that can improve future performance."

Harjanto continued, in addition to focusing on production for lead and zinc commodities, the Company is also intensifying iron ore production with sales targets for the domestic market.
