JIIPE is estimated to make a 23% contribution to AKR Corpindo profit

JAKARTA. The management of PT AKR Corporindo (AKRA) hoped that the land sales in Java Integrated Industrial Port Estate (JIIPE) area could contribute 23% to the company’s gross profit, increasing from the 9% recorded in the 2020 fiscal year.

The Director of AKR Corporindo, Suresh Vembu, said that sales and distribution segments were still the main contributor to the company’s gross profit in 2020 with an 83% portion. Meanwhile, the JIIPE area contributed 9%.

Vembu projected that the contribution made by JIIPE for AKRA’s gross profit would escalate by 23% in 2023. “This estimation was made with the assumption of 40 to 45-hectare land sales per year,” Suresh stated via a webinar on Thursday (25/3).

At the same time, President Director of AKRA, Haryanto Adikoesoemo, explained that his company has some advantages regarding JIIPE’s status as an industrial area. First, JIIPE is currently the only industrial area integrated with the sea and utilising power plants, thus reducing the tenants’ logistic costs. Furthermore, JIIPE has obtained the environmental license (AMDAL) and the Direct Construction Facility (lit. Kemudahan Langsung Izin Konstruksi/KLIK).

In addition to those, JIIPE also owns a land of 1200-hectare. Then, the support from the government to transform JIIPE to a Special Economic Zone (lit. Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus/KEK) would give even more benefits for the tenants. (AM/ZH)
