PUPR Ministry builds two domestic wastewater treatment systems in Yogyakarta

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Director General of Cipta Karya is completing the construction of two Domestic Wastewater Management Systems (SPALD), namely SPALD Depok in Sleman Regency and SPALD Bambanglipuro in Bantul Regency.

"This infrastructure development aims to improve community sanitation services and reduce environmental pollution caused by domestic waste water that is discharged directly into rivers and land," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.

SPALD Depok, which is located in Sleman Regency, was built from 14 August 2020 to 9 June 2021 for 300 calendar days according to the contract. The implementing contractor of PT. Karaga, KSO Martua with a budget of IDR 31.9 billion. Currently, the progress has reached 41.16% with service coverage covering 2 areas, namely Caturtunggal and Condongcatur Kelurahan.

Furthermore, SPALD Bambanglipuro, located in Bantul Regency, began construction from April 16, 2020 to May 6, 2021 for 385 calendar days according to the contract. The implementing contractor of PT. Indo Pratama - KSO with a budget of IDR 46 billion. Currently, the progress has reached 84% with service coverage in 5 villages, namely Palbapang, Ringinharjo, Bantul, Trirenggo, and Sumbermulyo Villages. (LM)
