JAKARTA. This year, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) targets nickel ore production of 8.84 million wet metric tons (WMT) and a sales target of 6.71 wmt, an increase of almost two times compared to the realization of production in 2020 of 4.6 million wmt and sales of 3.3 million wmt.
SVP Secretary Aneka Tambang Kunto Hendrapawoko explained that the aggressive target was set to meet domestic needs due to increased smelter activity, improving industry and rising prices.
According to Kunto, his party is currently strengthening the main commodity business from upstream to downstream to strengthen the company's positive performance. For this reason, ANTM has allocated a capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 2.84 trillion, with internal and external funding sources.
The capex will be used for business development, including the completion of the ferronickel smelter project in East Halmahera, and the smelter grade alumina refinery (SGAR) in collaboration with MIND ID, said Kunto after the General Meeting of Shareholders Wednesday (7/4/2021). (AM/LM)
