Pertamina prepares US$ 10.7 billion for capital expenditures

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) allocated capital expenditure (capex) of US$ 10.7 billion in order to pursue the target of growth in production of gas oil (oil and gas) from domestic and foreign oil and gas fields as well as additional oil and gas reserves this year. This was conveyed by Agus Suprijanto, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communication and Investor Relations of PT Pertamina (Persero) in a press release quoted on Tuesday (13/4).

He conveyed that this year's capital expenditure allocation exceeded the estimated realization of capital expenditure in 2020 amounting to US$ 4.7 billion. The use of these funds, among others, was for 46% for upstream oil and gas activities, 36% for the development of refineries and petrochemicals, and 18% for the development of new and renewable energy.

A number of Pertamina's targets this year, namely, the addition of oil and gas reserves of 696 million barrels of Oil Equivalent (MMBOE), sales volume of fuel oil (BBM) grew 12% from last year, gas distribution reached 392 BBTU and gas transmission by 502 billion standard cubic. feet (BSCF), as well as the construction of a gas network of 500 household connections.

Other targets are the development of biogas power plants (PLTBg), Solar Power Plants (PLTS), Geothermal Power Plants (PLTB) and electricity production in the range of 4.5 GwH. (LK/LM)
