13 April 2021 15:31

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government has designated the name Sheikh MOHAMED BIN ZAYED (MBZ) as the name of the Highway for the Jakarta-Cikampek II (Elevated) Toll Road. The inauguration of the naming of the longest flyover in Indonesia was carried out by the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno on Monday (12/4/2021) at the location of the access to the Cikampek Highway Km 10 A Jakarta - Cikampek Highway.

Minister of State Secretary Pratikno in his remarks said that the background for giving the name JALAN LAYANG MBZ Sheikh MOHAMED BIN ZAYED is a tribute to the United Arab Emirates (UEA) which has established diplomatic relations in the social and cultural and economic fields for 45 years with Indonesia. In the economic sector, the UAE is one of the countries with the largest investment in Indonesia, especially in the infrastructure sector. Previously, the name of President Joko Widodo had also been declared as the name of one of the strategic toll roads in the oil-producing country.

"We also need to convey beforehand that President Joko Widodo's street name has also been proclaimed in Abu Dhabi on a strategic road between the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center to the embassy complex. This is also a tribute to the Indonesian nation given by the UAE government, especially Sheikh Mohamed. Bin Zayed. So that's the background of this name change," he said.

For information, the elevated Jakarta Cikampek II toll road has a length of 36.4 kilometers, of which construction has been carried out since early 2017 and was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on December 12, 2019. (LM)
