JAKARTA - In commemoration of "One Decade of Awakening of the Indonesian Sharia Capital Market", MNC Sekuritas - a business unit of PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP) - won an award as the First Securities Company for Stock Waqf Developer on Monday (12/04/2021).
This event was organized by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI), PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), and in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Directorate of Islamic Capital Markets virtually in commemoration of 10 years since the launch of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), Fatwa DSN MUI no. 80, and the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS).
President Director of MNC Sekuritas Susy Meilina expressed her gratitude because MNC Sekuritas had the opportunity to win this prestigious award. Susy explained that the growth of MNC Sekuritas sharia customers is increasing from year to year.
The number of MNC Sekuritas sharia customers as of the end of March 2021 jumped 120% compared to the end of 2020. The transaction value of sharia customers also grew by more than 40% in the same period.
"As of March 2021, the total value of MNC Sekuritas' waqf shares from cooperation with the Indonesian Waqf Board and Rumah Zakat has reached hundreds of millions of rupiah. This share waqf is a gift from hundreds of MNC Sekuritas customers who donate hundreds of issuers. We hope that sharia investment will bring blessings to all. MNC Sekuritas is committed to supporting the development of the Islamic capital market going forward,” explained Susy.
MNC Sekuritas itself has launched a stock waqf program called MNC Wakafku, in collaboration with the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) since 2019 and Rumah Zakat since 2020. (LM)
