JAKARTA – Statistics Indonesia (lit. Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS) reported the export value of USD 48.90 billion in Q1 2021, increasing from Q1 2019 of IDR 41.70 billion. The main contributor of this gain came from non-oil and gas export with USD 46.25 billion and the oil and gas export with USD 2.65 billion.

In a press conference quoted on Thursday (15/4), the most significant sector supporting the non-oil and gas export was agricultural products and mining products processing, particularly in the last three months. The primary export destinations were China, USA, and Japan.

In March 2021, the export was recorded at USD 18.35 billion, climbing up from USD 15.25 billion in February 2021. The non-oil and gas export contributed USD 17.44 billion, while the oil and gas export added USD 906 million. They both increased from USD 14.39 billion and USD 860.6 million, respectively, in February 2021. (LK/ZH)
