JAKARTA – PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) has reported the production of 15,198-tonne of nickel in matte in Q1 2021, lower than the production in Q1 2020. Nico Kanter, the President Director of PT Vale Indonesia, announced this through the information disclosure, quoted on Tuesday (20/4).

It was announced that the production went down by 8% from December 2020 of 16,445-tonne, and was reduced by 14% from Q1 2020 of 17,614-tonne. “The production decrease was due to maintenance activities,” Kanter assured.

Kanter stated that INCO aims for the production level of 64,000-tonne of nickel by the end of this year. This target would go along with the plan to rebuild one of the electric furnaces. “INCO was able to maintain its operational advancement in Q1 2021 following the response towards the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
