Bank Hana provides US$ 13 million green loan for Chandra Asri

JAKARTA - PT Bank KEB Hana Indonesia (Bank Hana) has provided a green loan facility worth US$ 13 million to finance the green project of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA).

Park Jong Jin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank Hana said that the facility is specifically for the sustainability of environmentally friendly projects that have been carried out by Chandra Asri in Cilegon, Banten. "Bank Hana wants to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development in Indonesia," he said in a press release quoted on Wednesday (21/4).

Andre Khor, Chief Financial Officer of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA) said Bank Hana's support was an acknowledgment of the progress made in project implementation and completion. "Chandra Asri is committed to consistently upholding environmental, social and governance standards in daily operations," he said.

The Chandra Asri project that has been completed and meets the requirements for green loan financing includes an enclosed ground flare (EGF) which is capable of burning 220 tons of hydrocarbons per hour using the closed combustion method and the use of an electrical forkflift (e-forklift) by burning lithium batteries.
