QNB suffered a bigger loss in Q1 2021

JAKARTA. PT Bank QNB Indonesia Tbk (BKSW) recorded a loss of IDR 148.67 billion in Q1 2021, multiplying by seven times compared to its loss in Q1 2020.

The increasing loss resulted from the weaker revenue performance in Q1 2021 than Q1 2020. This decline also applied to both interest and non-interest income.

The total interest income in Q1 2021 was reported at IDR 242.87 billion, 27.4% lower than Q1 2020. Meanwhile, the non-interest income reached IDR 28.72 billion in Q1 2021, which was 36.8% lower compared to Q1 2020.

As of March 31, 2021, the company’s assets slightly went up to IDR 18.44 trillion, increasing by 0.77% from its total assets recorded by the end of 2020. At the same time, the total channelled credit distributed by the company in Q1 2021 reached IDR 11.34 trillion.

According to idnfinancials.com, 92.48% of BKSW’s shares were controlled by Qatar National Bank, one of the biggest banks in the Middle East region. The remaining 7.52% of its shares went to the public investors, with an ownership portion of less than 5% each. (KR/ZH)
