JAKARTA. PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk. (PSSI) plans to expand its fleet this year by allocating a capital expenditure (capex) of US$ 21 million to achieve revenue growth of up to 20 percent.

PSSI President Director Iriawan Ibarat explained that last year his company implemented a multi-cargo commodity diversification strategy to capture potential market share, including the international market. This strategy will generate revenues of US$ 68.4 million by 2020.

With this year's fleet expansion plan, Iriawan is optimistic that he can achieve revenue growth of around 15%-20% higher than the realization in 2020. "The target is higher than 2019 or pre-pandemic," said Iriawan in an official statement Monday (26/4 / 2021).

Iriawan is also optimistic that through business diversification, optimization of assets and fleet expansion as a sustainable strategy, will result in sustainable growth. (AM/LM)
