JAKARTA – PT Pertamina (Persero) anticipated the sudden increase in fuel oil (BBM) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) consumption despite the homecoming ban applied this year. Agus Suprijanto, the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communication and Investor Relations of Pertamina, conveyed the news through the information disclosure, quoted Tuesday (27/4).

It was mentioned that gasoline consumption was predicted to go up by 8% from the average normal consumption of 84 thousand kilolitres (KL) daily. Gasoil consumption was also projected to increase by 2% from the normal daily consumption rate of 38 thousand KL, while LPG consumption would soar by 5.4% from the consumption rate of 25 thousand tonnes per day. “Regarding jet fuel consumption, it was estimated to be reduced by 3.8% from the normal consumption level of 6 thousand KL per day during Eid,” Suprijanto added.

According to Suprijanto, the preparation for this surge would include the accessibility of 68 Plane Filling Depots (DPPU), 114 BBM terminals, 7,469 gas stations (SPBU), 23 LPG terminals, 667 LPG stations, 4,972 LPG agents, and 223.332 Pertamina outlets across the country. (LK/ZH)
