Bank OCBC NISP scored IDR 515 billion profit in Q1 2021

JAKARTA. PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk (NISP) announced its net profit of Q1 2021, which reached IDR 515 billion. There was also another gain in its net interest income, now amounting to IDR 1.9 trillion.

The revenue growth experienced by NISP in this quarter was also supported by its third-party funds (DPK), reaching IDR 155 trillion after a 13% year-on-year (yoy) increase. Furthermore, 45.1% of the DPK came from the cheap funds or the Current Account Saving Account (CASA).

“The CASA ratio became one of the contributors in the net interest income growth of 10% yoy in Q1 2021,” the management confirmed during a press conference today (29/4).

By the end of March 2021, NISP has channelled credits of IDR 114.9 trillion. It was 7% lower compared to the same period last year. However, the company managed to maintain its non-performing loan (NPL) gross ratio at 2% and NPL net ratio at 0.8% in Q1 2021.

According to idnfinancials.com data, by the end of March 2021, 85% of NISP was still controlled by OCBC Overseas Investments Pte. Ltd. The public investors also participated by less than 5% portion each, amounting to 14.92% of NISP’s shares. (KR/ZH)
