JAKARTA - In order to support the growth of the digital ecosystem in the financial and banking sector, BRI Agro signed a Cooperation Agreement with one of the developing technology companies in Indonesia, namely Modalku (PT Mitrausaha Indonesia Group) (6/5).

This cooperation agreement was carried out online and signed by Sigit Murtiyoso as Director of Retail Agri & BRI Agro Funding and Iwan Kurniawan as Co-Founder & COO of Modalku. The signing was also attended by Kaspar Situmorang as President Director of BRI Agro and Bhimo Wikan Hantoro as Director of Digital Business of BRI Agro.

The collaboration between BRI Agro and Modalku is one of BRI Agro's strategic steps as the House of Fintech and Home of Gig Economy to expand access to capital, especially for people from various business sectors. "Our goal as the House of Fintech and Home for Gig Economy is because we want to serve informal sector workers or the so-called Gig Economy Workers, including MSMEs. The trick is to collaborate with Fintech to be able to produce accurate data for digital lending," said Sigit Sigit Murtiyoso, Director of Retail Agri & BRI Agro Funding.

BRI Agro will channel credit through a digital platform with its role as a lender by signing a partnership with Modalku. “We are very optimistic that the collaboration with Modalku will contribute to the community as well as players in the Gig Economy. Because these Gig Economy players are one of the pillars of economic recovery growth in Indonesia. In addition, the Gig Economy worker is the embodiment of new MSMEs whose credit distribution is done digitally based on data," said Sigit. (LM)
