JAKARTA – PT Asuransi Jasa Tania Tbk (ASJT) would launch a rights issue, offering a maximum of 1 billion shares from July 12 to July 16, 2021. The said plan has gained approval during the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting on February 26. 2021.
As specified in the information disclosure, quoted Wednesday (19/5), Irfan Fahrudin, the Corporate Secretary of Asuransi Jasa Tania, announced that 90% of the collected funds would be utilised in increasing insurance premiums across all investment instruments. “The rest of the funds would be allocated to human resources and information technology development,” Fahrudin added.
According to Fahrudin, this rights issue is expected to boost the number of shares listed on the exchange, thus improving the company’s liquidity.
As of April 20, 2021, ASJT’s stock reached 600 million shares, of which 77.39% of them are controlled by Dana Pensiun Perkebunan (DPP). The remaining 22.61% are distributed among public investors, owning over 5% each. (LK/ZH)
