JAKARTA. In an effort to increase core capital to IDR 2 trillion this year, PT Bank Ganesha Tbk. (BGTG) is currently studying several options to be taken, including considering the entry of strategic investors.

President Director of Bank Ganesha Lisawati said that Bank Ganesha is committed to increasing core capital in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). She said several plans that had been taken into consideration included opening the entry of strategic partners. However, if there are no new investors, the existing owners of capital will continue to increase their capital.

"Currently we are still studying the best option which will be the grand design," said Lisawati in the annual general meeting of shareholders (AGMS) of Bank Ganesha, Wednesday (19/5/2021). Lisawati also hopes that in the second semester of this year the plan to increase the capital will find clarity.

Meanwhile, according to Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulations, Bank Ganesha needs to increase its core capital to a minimum of IDR 2 trillion this year and to IDR 3 trillion in 2022.

Bank Ganesha's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) at the end of 2020 was at 35.70% at the end of 2020, up from the level of 32.84%. Meanwhile, total assets grew by 11.55% to Rp5.36 trillion.
