JAKARTA. In an effort to become an oil and gas holding company, PT Pertamina (Persero) has streamlined the number of subsidiaries from 127 to 12 subsidiaries.

Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said the restructuring refers to the benchmark of multinational oil and gas companies such as Petronas, British Petroleum (BP), and ExxonMobil, which group businesses based on value chains from upstream to downstream.

Nicke in a hearing with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives on Thursday (20/5/2021) explained that with the restructuring, streamlining occurred, making it easier for the company to manage and compile strategic plans for the entire Pertamina Group business.

"The organizational structure of the company has become more streamlined and focused so that decision making is faster," said Nicke. The restructuring has also streamlined the 11 directorates in Pertamina to become five directorates and an integrator function. (AM/LM)
