JAKARTA - PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) X, which is a subsidiary of PTPN III (Persero) Holding Perkebunan Nusantara, will start production in 2021 marked by the first planting of tobacco in the Ajong Gayasan Plantation, Jember (19/5) and the beginning of grinding the Sugar Factory (PG) Ngadiredjo Kediri (20/5).
In 2021, PTPN X targets sugar production of 275,658 tons with a total of 3.4 million tons of milled sugarcane. As for the tobacco commodity, PTPN X increased its area to 605 hectares, with a green leaf production of 11,641 tons. The targeted dry leaf productivity is 1.89 tonnes/ha with green leaf productivity targeted at 19.24 tonnes/ha.
“PTPN X has shown its best performance in the last year. It is proven from the tobacco commodity, there has been an increase in land area and productivity. In the sugar commodity, PTPN X also shows optimal production achievements. I am sure that in 2021 all the targets will be achieved,” explained M. Abdul Ghani, President Director of Holding Perkebunan.
For tobacco commodities, in 2021, Kebun Ajong Gayasan and Kebun Kertosari Jember are committed to providing the best performance in producing quality tobacco in accordance with market demand, one of which is in terms of the NW quality composition of 30%. Targeting a planted area of 375,588 hectares and a total export production of 532,838 kg, Kebun Ajong Gayasan is optimistic that it can reap a profit of IDR 52 billion. (LM)
