State Budget’s deficit reaches IDR 138.1 trillion

JAKARTA. The deficit realisation of the State Budget 2021 until April 2021 jumps 8.5% to IDR 138.1 trillion compared to last year.

During the working meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) yesterday (24/5), the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, saw this number as relatively small. However, she promised to maintain it without disrupting the economic recovery trend.

The deficit of IDR 138.1 trillion is equal to 0.83% of gross domestic products (GDP), which has the upper limit set at 5.7%.

Indrawati mentioned that by April 2021, the national income had reached IDR 585 trillion, 33.5% of the State Budget. It increases 6.5% from last year. Meanwhile, the state expenditure was at IDR 723 trillion, 22.6% of the State Budget. It also increases 15.9% from last year.

“Our primary balance in April was IDR 36.4 trillion. It is lower than in March, showing an improvement,” Indrawati added. Meanwhile, the budget financing was at IDR 392.2 trillion, 39% of the State Budget. It climbs up 74.2% from last year. (AM/ZH)
