JAKARTA. The increasing and unfaltering coal price gives PT Pelita Samudera Shipping Tbk. (PSSI) opportunities to launch a business diversification in the multi-cargo shipping business field.
The Corporate Secretary of PSSI, Imelda Agustina Kiagoes, mentions that the company had secured contracts, whose values keep increasing, from the end of 2020 to the beginning of 2021. This gain has allowed this commodities shipping services company to explore other shipping services outside coals.
Since the middle of last year, the tug and barge sector has started to transport nickel. This year, aside from nickel and coal, the company would begin transporting bauxite.
By the end of December 2020, PSSI has obtained a contract worth USD 164.6 million, with a one to five-year working period. In 2021, it secured another contract. “The number would still have to be rechecked,” Kiagoes stated, as quoted from Bisnis, Monday (24/5). (AM/ZH
