JAKARTA. PT Maybank Indonesia Tbk has filed a Suspension of Debt Payment (lit. Penundaan Kewajiban Pembayaran Utang/PKPU) for PT Pan Brothers Tbk following its failure to pay its obligations since last year.
In the information disclosure, Tommy Hersyaputera, the Spokesperson of Maybank, announced that this request had been filed to Central Jakarta District Court. The company took the said legal action after Pan Brothers had delayed its loan payment since last year and had not shown any real and concrete resolution attempts since then.
“We hope that [after] this postponement, the debtor would commit to resolve its obligations,” Hersyaputera added, as quoted from Bloomberg.
Meanwhile, Pan Brothers claimed that it had tried its best to negotiate with the syndicated loan and bilateral loan lenders to accept the voluntary debt restructuring outside the court. This plan was conveyed through an official statement by the company, published in the exchange board last weekend. (AM/ZH)
