Indonesia sends 2,000 oxygen gas cylinders to India

JAKARTA - Indonesia once again sent aid in the form of oxygen gas cylinders to India for victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this second phase, 2,000 oxygen gas cylinders with a capacity of 6 cubic meters (equivalent to 40 liters) were shipped. Previously, in the first stage, 1,400 cylinders had been delivered from a total of 3,400 cylinders to be given.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto said this assistance was a form of Indonesia's commitment to maintaining friendship between the two countries. India and Indonesia are strategic partners as well as friends in good times and in bad times. "This assistance is the second phase after the first delivery on May 10. God willing, our brothers and sisters in India can benefit from the assistance of their relatives in Indonesia,” he said at the handover of the second phase oxygen gas cylinder aid to the Indian government in Jakarta, Friday (28/5).

Airlangga conveyed that the Indonesian Government was grateful to the corporations that supported this program in an Indonesian public-private partnership with the Ministry of Industry as a driving force. This is in accordance with the direction of the President, that to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic and economic recovery, we are moving in the same orchestration and with the same goals.

Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Manoj Kumar Bharti expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian government for facilitating the provision of assistance in any form to India amid the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. "We currently receive donations of 2,000 cylinders, which is the second phase. Previously, 1,400 cylinders had been received," he said. (LM)
