ALDO seizes growth opportunities from trend in e-commerce and FMCG

JAKARTA - PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk (ALDO), a listed company engaging in the integrated paper and chemicals business experienced sales growth from the increasing trend of e-commerce and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. This is one of the growth drivers of sales in the first quarter of 2021 by 9.4% yoy compared to the first quarter of 2020.

President Director of ALDO, H. Sutanto said, "We see the prospects of the FMCG industry and online business where the use of technology has become a trend that makes it easier to order food and delivery online which will certainly require packaging. In addition, for the future prospects, we also see opportunities from the shipping business where Indonesia as an archipelago is very wide that shipping from one island to another will require packaging whose raw materials we can provide."

Judging from the growth of online shopping as well as food delivery, ALDO is optimistic with the target of significant sales growth of the paper and paper conversion segments this year. Even in the first quarter of 2021, ALDO's paper segment posted sales of IDR 126.7 billion, or grew 33% compared to the same quarter last year (YoY) while sales contribution from the conversion paper segment increased by 14% or IDR 90.4 billion compared to the first quarter of last year.

During the first quarter of this year ALDO managed to record revenue of IDR 340.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 9.4% compared to the first quarter of 2020 of IDR 311.4 billion. This result also boosted the achievement of net profit attributable to the Owner of the Parent Entity which was recorded at IDR 14.6 billion in the first quarter of 2021, or grew by 79.2% compared to the achievement of the same quarter in the previous year, which was IDR 8.2 billion.
