Sampoerna Agro plans to issue another bond this year

07 June 2021 06:36

JAKARTA. PT Sampoerna Agro Tbk (SGRO) is seeking the right momentum to issue another bond by this year following its previously offered bond in March 2021 of IDR 589.5 billion.

“We are looking for the right moment within the next few months, hopefully within this year,” the Head of Investor Relations of Sampoerna Agro, Michael Kesuma, stated in Bisnis.com last weekend. He also explained that this bond issuance would be the last phase within the Shelf-Registration bond offering of the company. Kesuma saw this bond issuance as the company’s strategy to increase liquidity and improve debt management.

Kesuma predicted that the value for this bond would reach IDR 500 to 600 billion. However, this number could change and be adjusted according to the market condition.

In March 2021, SGRO issued a bond of IDR 569.5 billion, comprising the Shelf-Registration Bond I Sampoerna Agro Phase II Year 2021 with the principal amount of IDR 174.615 billion and the Shelf-Registration Sukuk Ijarah I Sampoerna Agro Phase II Year 2021 with the reward of IR 394.885 billion.
