MEDAN - Pelindo 1 targets to strengthen its marine services to be one of the company's strategies this year. Optimization of the marine service business will be carried out, among others, by developing the Kuala Tanjung Port and Industrial Estate (PIE), intelligent marketing, expanding networking by collaborating and joining the international community, as well as implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) in the marine service business sector.
“Marine Service is one of the business strategies that will focus on developing this year. Located in the middle of the Malacca Strait as the world's busiest trade route, which 80,000 ships pass per year, this marine service activity is very important," said Pelindo 1 Director of Operations and Commercial, Ridwan Sani Siregar.
First, Pelindo 1 will continue to develop pilotage and towing services in Kuala Tanjung PIE which has great potential to grow and develop rapidly. Second, intelligent marketing is carried out with a focus on identifying customers, especially in the areas of Batam, Karimun, and the waters of the Malacca Strait.
Third, Pelindo 1 expands networking by collaborating and partnering. Pelindo 1 cooperates with various parties to optimize the marine service business. One of the partners to be partnered is PT Kawasan Industri Dumai (KID). Fourth is to implement IoT in the marine service business sector. (LM)
