Gov’t to auction off six oil and gas working areas

JAKARTA. Through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Indonesian government would put six oil and gas working areas on auction with the adjusted terms and conditions for the contractors.

According to Agung Pribadi, the Head of Communication Bureau of the Ministry of ESDM, four out of six oil and gas working areas would be auctioned with a direct offer scheme. The four working areas include South CPP in Riau, Sumbagsel in South Sumatera, Rangkas in Banten, and Liman in East Java offshore.

Meanwhile, two other working areas would be auctioned using a regular auction method. They are Merangin III in South Sumatera and Jambi and North Kangean in East Java offshore.

The said terms and conditions adjusted by the government include the improved profit-split, a bonus signature offer, and contract type flexibility.

The direct offer period would start on June 17, 2021, and end on July 30, 2021. Meanwhile, the regular auction process would be carried out until October 14, 2021. (KR/ZH)
