ZINC scores IDR64.6 billion net profit in first quarter

JAKARTA - PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC), posted growth performance in the first quarter of 2021. Until the end of March 2021, ZINC managed to record sales of IDR228.4 billion, up 36.9% compared to the same period in the previous year which was IDR166.7 billion. While gross profit increased 124.5% to IDR113.2 billion, and net income increased 304.4% to IDR64.6 billion from IDR15.9 billion in the same period in the previous year

Padli Noor as Independent Director of ZINC said that the achievement is in response to the increase in production capacity that has been implemented since the end of 2020, as well as the trend of increasing commodity prices which will continue until the middle of 2021. 

“Until the first quarter of 2021, ZINC produced ore of 126,000 tonnes, grew by 57.5% compared to ore production in the same period in the previous year which was 80,000 tonnes,” Padli said in an official statement.

Previously, ZINC set a sales target in 2021 of IDR1.2 trillion. ZINC is optimistic that the positive performance in the first quarter can continue by the end of the year, in line with the strategy of increasing production capacity by 20-30% to 564,000 tonnes of concentrate.

For information, ZINC obtained an export quota of 46,000 tonnes zinc concentrate and 17,500 tonnes of lead concentrate for 2021. (LM)
