An emerging new wave of COVID-19 forces Ancol to close down

24 June 2021 20:58

JAKARTA. PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk (PJAA) announces a temporary shut down for the recreation units across the Ancol area following the surge in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta.

Agung Praptono, the Corporate Secretary of PJAA, claims that this activity cessation abides the DKI Jakarta Governor Decree No. 796 of 2021. In this decree, the DKI Jakarta provincial government extends its Micro-Based Public Activity Restriction.

“The temporary shut down of recreation units in Impian Jaya Ancol Park is effective by June 24, 2021, until further announced,” Praptono explains in the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange earlier today (24/6).

According to idnfinancials.com, the closing down of Ancol Park was once performed by PJAA in 2020 following the Large-Scale Social Distancing. This temporary closing forced its revenue to plummet 69.5% to IDR 414.2 billion in 2020. The company then experienced a loss of up to IDR 392.8 billion.

DKI Jakarta government owns 72% of PJAA. Another 18.01% belongs to PT Pembangunan Jaya, 9.99% is dispersed among the public investors, and the remaining is shared among the company’s directors and commissaries. (KR/ZH)
