JAKARTA. Through its two subsidiaries, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) has provided additional capital of IDR 195.54 billion to PT Astra Digital Arta (AstraPay).

Gita Tiffani Boer, the Corporate Secretary of ASII, states that this additional investment was sent out after AstraPay issued 1.96 million new shares. PT Federal International Finance (FIF) took over 398,500 units, while PT Sedaya Multi Investama (SMI) acquired the other 1,556,850 units.

Through the official statement released today (2/7), Boer claims that this capital injection would be utilised by AstraPay to fulfil the company’s general needs. “For FIF and SMI, this transaction could give them financial benefits in the form of dividends as the remuneration of its investment in Astra Digital Arta,” Boer continues.

After the new stock issuance, SMI now controls 72.75% of AstraPay. FIF acquires 25% of AstraPay’s shares, and the remaining 2.25% belongs to Koperasi FIF 2000.

For the record, the additional investment channelled by these two subsidiaries of ASII is categorised as an affiliate transaction. Until June 2021, ASII still controls 99.99% of FIF and SMI. (KR/ZH)
