09 July 2021 20:03

JAKARTA - Indonesia and Singapore are increasingly strengthening cooperation in efforts to develop the quality of competent human resources (HR), especially those capable of mastering the development of industrial technology 4.0. One of these strategic steps is realized through collaboration between the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry and Singapore Polytechnic.

"This is a real commitment from us in supporting the government's program on the implementation of the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap, one of the goals of which is to produce industrial human resources who are ready to enter the industrial era 4.0," said Head of BPSDMI of the Ministry of Industry, Arus Gunawan in Jakarta, Friday (9/7).

The Head of BPSDMI said that in 2018-2019, the Ministry of Industry has facilitated the training of 100 productive Vocational High School (SMK) teachers. This training is the result of a link and match program between SMK and industry throughout Indonesia, which has successfully involved 500 teachers who are beneficiaries of the program.

"The training activities are carried out at the ITE Singapore campus which is supported by the Temasek Foundation," he said. In 2020, the Temasek Foundation again supports the collaboration program between the Ministry of Industry's BPSDMI and Singapore Polytechnic in the industrial 4.0 HR training program through the results of the MoU signed in 2019.
