Indonesian Embassy in Singapore cooperates with Yayasan Bakti Barito and Temasek Foundation to support Govt in overcoming pandemic

JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore in collaboration with Prajogo Pangestu—founder of the Barito Pacific Group and Yayasan Bakti Barito —and the Temasek Foundation donated 3,000 oxygen concentrator units to the Indonesian government to deal with the current rising Covid-19 pandemic.

Agus Salim Pangestu, President Director of PT Barito Pacific Tbk said, "To ease the burden on the Indonesian people who are currently facing an increase in positive cases, the Yayasan Bakti Barito in collaboration with the Temasek Foundation brings oxygen concentrator units that can be first aid in handling Covid patients-19. This is a form of our sense of solidarity and sympathy as an Indonesian company, because we can only get through this pandemic if we support and help each other.”

Benedict Cheong, Chief executive of Temasek Foundation International said to the Indonesian government, “The Temasek Foundation in Singapore extends its deep solidarity with our friendly country, Indonesia. Together with the Bakti Barito Foundation, we are sending a medical standard non-invasive oxygen concentrator unit that can be used in hospitals treating Covid-19 patients."

The assistance of 3,000 oxygen concentrators is provided in two stages. In the first stage, fifteen hundred units of this oxygen concentrator were imported to Indonesia together with assistance in handling Covid-19 from the Singapore government which was handed over to the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, H.E Tommy Suryopratomo on 9 July 2021 in Singapore. The second phase will be carried out in the next few weeks. (LM)
