JAKARTA – The realisation of debt payment in the first half of 2021 amounts to IDR 433 trillion or 37.6% of the target of IDR 1,177.4 trillion by the end of this year. Sri Mulyani, the Minister of Finance, announces this gain during the meeting with the Budget Committee of DPR RI, Monday (12/7).
It is further mentioned that for the second half of 2021, the target shifts to IDR 515 trillion, adding into the total debt payment of IDR 958.1 trillion out of the targeted IDR 1,117.4 trillion. “It is IDR 219 trillion lower than the target set in the State Budget of 2021,” Mulyani states.
According to Mulyani, this realisation fails to reach the target due to the 2021 state budget deficit. The realisastion of the deficit in H1 2021 is reported at 1.72% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), equal to IDR 283.2 trillion.
Furthermore, the shrinking debt payment is due to the optimal channelling of last year’s budget surplus. (LK/ZH)
